Krewe du Cirque

In Foley, the Krewe du Cirque, which formed in 2017, has held one Mardi Gras ball and participated in the Foley Mardi Gras Parade. Now the group is now going to have its own parade in conjunction with the OWA entertainment complex.

The parade is scheduled to roll on Joe Cain Day, Sunday, March 3, at 4 p.m. The route will be on the OWA property but not in the amusement park, so paying admission will not be necessary to see the parade. There will also be a festival after the parade that will include a meet and greet with the KDC King and Queen.

The KDC President made it clear that their events would not interfere with the Foley Parade, which is due to be held on March 2 at 11 a.m.

A non-mystic, co-ed organization, KDC will have at least four floats in their inaugural the parade, the President said.

The Krewe du Cirque is also becoming known for its big Halloween costume bash as well as its Miss Mardi Gras Pageant, which held this year on January 12.

One thing to look for at the parade is one of KDC’s hand-decorated wooden eggs – already a sought-after Mardi Gras throw. “We were surprised,” the President said. “We didn’t really advertise the eggs, but people were out there begging for eggs” at last year’s Foley Parade.
