The Conde Explorers was founded in 2004 and was able to get a parade permit in 2005.
According to the group's website, "The Conde Explorers became the first integrated Mardi Gras society to parade in downtown Mobile. ... In addition to its parade and ball, the Conde Explorers hold several parties throughout the year, and its members perform volunteer work."
In recent years, the Explorers purchased several floats, and they built their own float barn.
The Explorers rolled on January 27 after the Pharaohs with five of their own floats, including their emblem float, in addition to nine floats rented from the Conde Cavaliers.
The theme was Cheers to Exploring 20 Years: Parade of Champions.
